Mine by Courtney Cole

Holy cow!! I’ve just read this novel in one sitting. Book is written so well that I felt sick on my stomach because I thought it was my husband who was cheating on me. Just great mix of thriller and woman fiction which was tens and fast moving. I definitely have to read more books by Courtney Cole.

The Night Before by Wendy Walker

Rosie’s sister Laura went for a date with a man that she met online, and she’s never come back home. Rosie, with her husband Joe and best friend Gabe, is desperately trying to track her steps. What happened? Who killed who? Be ready for a crazy ride in this fast spinning roller-coaster. Tension building, page turner psychological thriller that I couldn’t put down until all the secrets reviled. I honestly recommend this book to anybody who likes to sit on the edge of the chair.

Little Darlings by Melanie Golding

Mother’s worst nightmare. Her babies are gone!! What a debut, page turner from the first to the last page. Psychological thriller that I couldn’t stop reading. I can’t believe it that I was actually cheering for a mad woman but was she crazy or not? I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a goose bumps and frightening stories.

Wolfhunter River by Rachel Caine

Third book in the Stillhouse Lake series. In my opinion first one was the best, this one is too chaotic for me. Some connections make no sense, some situations make no sense, too much of everything. I finished it because I like Gwen Proctor, she is smart and very protective. Rachel Caine knows how to write not boring thrillers. Definitely it was fast and easy reading.

Spark by Patricia Leavy

“Someday is always in the distance. Someday is dangerous. Be careful of someday.”

I am so glad that I read this novel. It is short but very inspiring. Doesn’t matter what field you are in; the book will affect you. Beside learning a lot of life lessons, I was on the edge till the end like in a good crime book 🙂

Unraveling by Karen Lord

I am not going to lie but I don’t know the author, so I picked this book only by looking at the cover page which seemed to me very intriguing. It’s a big maze with an eye in the middle. The main characters Dr. Miranda Ecouvo and two brothers Chance and Trickster have to go through the maze and solve complicated puzzles in order to catch a killer or rather confirmed that Walther Grey, Butcher of the City killed and mutilated 7 victims. I couldn’t get into the book on the beginning but when I did I couldn’t stop. It’s difficult reading and needs a lot of attention because scenes change very quickly but it’s rewarding on the end. There is a lot of characters throughout the book so if someone likes challenging reading I recommend this one :).

Time Crawlers by Varun Sayal

“There is no such thing as magic. It’s all science. The part of science that you don’t understand will always look like magic to you.”

I am pursuing engineering degree that’s why I picked this book to read. I always wonder how other people of science look at the universe and everything in it.

Book has a lot of interesting scientific theories grouped in six short stories. One was very funny, one was dark and gruesome. One was about some moral choices, one about time readers, one about alien and one about spaceship. I enjoyed all six of them 🙂
Author obviously has his own point of view on universe and parallel worlds which actually I seem to agree with.

The Perfect Child by Lucinda Berry

Wow!! What I’ve just read?!?! This book is very disturbing but I couldn’t put it down.  My emotions where all over the place because I didn’t know who should I feel sorry for more. I guess all of them 😦

It is a story of the couple Dr Christopher Bauer and his wife Hannah, who adopted an abused by her real mom child, Jenie. I think they underestimated how hard it is to foster traumatized child.

Lucinda Berry is a trauma psychologist and she uses her clinical experience to create psychological thrillers. I have to read more of her books in the future.
